How Much Does a Business Coach Cost in NZ?
In New Zealand, a business coach typically costs from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars a month, depending on whether you coach in a group or one-on-one. At The Growth Toolkit in Hamilton, The Masterclass group is $895 a month + GST and one-on-one coaching is $2,500 a month + GST. No contracts. Both start with six weeks one-on-one with Matt Fitzsimmons.
What are you paying for?
Someone who has seen your problem a hundred times before, sitting across from your numbers and making you act on them. Strategy, people and the numbers. If a coach can't show you where the money is within the first few sessions, keep your wallet closed.
Group or one-on-one?
Group suits owners who want steady progress at a sensible price, around other owners with the same problems. One-on-one suits owners with something that needs fixing now. Either way, the first six weeks are one-on-one: the FourCast diagnostic, your last 12 months of numbers, your stage of growth, your BHAG, your key numbers, your team, and a 90-day plan with three priorities.
How do you know it's worth the money?
Do the sum. At $895 a month, coaching needs to find you more than $10,740 a year to pay for itself. For a business with 5 to 80 staff, that is a small number. One bad hire costs more.
Clients stay with us nine years on average, with no contract keeping them. Matt has 25 years of coaching experience across eight countries.
What should you watch out for?
Lock-in contracts. Coaches who have never run a business. Anyone with a framework they can't explain in plain English. And anyone who talks about mindset before they've looked at your numbers.
Can you try it before you pay?
Yes. Book a free one-hour Growth Roadmap Session in Hamilton. You leave with your two or three biggest leverage points and a roadmap for them. No pitch. Full details are on How We Work Together.
